December to May is the manta season and even whale sharks can be seen at manta point. Throughout the year you can see napoleons, turtles, grey reef/white tip reef sharks, moray eels, stone fishes, frog fishes, jack fish, tuna, fuseliers, sting rays, large barracuda’s, manta mobula’s, eagle rays and a large variety of reef fish.

The reefs around Vilureef Beach & Spa Resort are in excellent condition and a revelation for macro lovers. The dive sites are easy to dive due to the wide channels in this atoll, the currents are less then in other Atolls in the Maldives. There are only 2 resorts in this Atoll, therefore the chance to see other divers underwater is rare.
