December to May is the manta season and even whale sharks can be seen at the outer reefs. Throughout the year you can see napoleons, turtles, grey reef/white tip reef sharks, moray eels, stone fishes, frog fishes, jack fish, tuna, fuseliers, sting rays, large barracuda’s, manta mobula’s, eagle rays and a large variety of reef fish. From January till May there is a very good chance to large schools of dolphins in Kandooma and Guraidhoo channel while diving.

The narrow channels around Olhuveli Beach & Spa Resort deliver strong currents and the likeliness of seeing sharks is high; turtles, families of big Napoleons, schools of eagle rays and cleaning mantas are very common. When the sea is flat you can see mantas at the end of the jetty at the housereef at night feeding on the plankton attracted by the lights. It is possible to make a night dive with the frenzy feeding mantas.
